Mr. Alphonso Lee Griffin,62, of Gadsden, passed away on Friday, September 9, 2022. Obituary Alphonso Lee Griffin was born on September 24,1959 in Sprott, Al to Hattie Lee and Sim Griffin.
He was a 1978 graduate of East Perry High School. After graduation he moved to Gadsden, Al. He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Pilgrim Baptist Church in Sprott, Al under the leadership of Rev. D.V. Johnson
He is preceded in death by: His father, Sim Griffin and Mother Hattie Lee Griffin; A sister, Cathey Smith and brother, Jimmy Lee Griffin; Niece, Shemeka Griffin and great-nephew, Deangelo Daniels.
He enjoyed spending time with family and friends, barbecuing, fish fries, and watching sports were among his favorite activities. The Alabama Crimson Tide was his favorite team.
Memories of him will forever be cherished by: His loving companion and mate, Sylvia Cole; Daughter, Charcara Cole; Three sons, Antwon Griffin, Justin Allen and Jonathan Cole, both of Gadsden, Al.; Sisters, Rachel (Andre)Williams of Detroit, Michigan and Vickie Griffin of Sprott, Al; Brothers, James Griffin of Gadsden, Al and Gospia Griffin of Sprott, Al; Grandchildren, London Allen, Gadsden, Al, James Jones of Hoover, Al, Jordan Griffin, Lorrie Ann and Nyralle Griffin; A God Daughter, Peaches Brim of Boston, Mass; Special friends, Leevan Ragland of Attalla, Al Ocie Hope and Rodney Bozeman of Gadsden, Al. A host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Friday, September 16, 2022 from 4pm-6pm. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 17, 2022 at 1:00pm at Mission Baptist Church. Eulogist: Minister Alvin Bolton Interment: Lincoln Hill Memorial Gardens.

Words can't express the feeling, the loss of my brother. He is in the hands of the Lord, and God does not make mistakes.
