Mr. Charles Bradford, 69, of Gadsden passed away on June 3, 2023. He is survived by his family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers.
Mr. Charles Bradford was born on October 25, 1953, in Gadsden, AL, to Mr. John D. Bradford Sr. & Mrs. Pandora Robinson Bradford.
He was a graduate of Carver High School, class of 1971.
Charles loved to plan the Robinson/Bradford annual family reunion, planning CHS, class of 1971 reunion events, surfing the web, playing solitaire, and reading. He also loved his Cadillac.
Charles retired from the US Army, Anniston Army Depot. He also retired from the Army Reserve where he served for 13 years. He served as a Head Usher, Sunday School Teacher, and Finance Board Member at Sweet Home United Methodist Church. He also was a member of the Male Chorus and United Methodist Men.
Charles is preceded in death by: His parents, John D. Bradford Sr & Pandora Robinson Bradford; Grandparents, Eugene Robinson & Annie Bell Bradford Evans; Two nieces; One great nephew.
He leaves to cherish his memories to: His loving wife of 43 years, Beatrice A. Bradford; Daughter, Tara King; Son, Alfred Harkley (Jimese); Special son, Christopher R. Bradford; Granddaughters, Shanice King, Kaprice Harris, Trinity Harris, and Sunni Harkley; Grandson, Zion Harkley; Sisters, Rebecca Tinker, Annette Bradford, and Dorothy B. Hawkins; Brothers, John D. Bradford Jr.(Demetris), and James W. Bradford (Qunnie);Three nephews, eight nieces; In-laws, Leslie Turner (Deena), Valroy Milan (Ralph), Carlton Hamilton, Mary Hamilton, Rose Wilford, and David Hamilton; Special friends, Tommy Green and Earl Lane; A host of other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 from 12noon-4pm.
Funeral services will be Thursday, June 8, 2023 at 6:00 pm at Sweet Home United Methodist Church. Eulogist: Reverend Michael Robertson Interment: Alabama National Cemetery at 10:15am.
