Mr. Glenn Wade Sr., 67, of Oneonta, AL, a proud retired veteran of the United States Army, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
Glenn Wade Sr. was born April 29, 1957 to the late Emma Jo Douglas in Oneonta, Alabama.
He attended Oneonta High School in Oneonta, Alabama and later obtained his General Educational
Development Certification. Glenn served in the Armed Forces of the United States Military.
After serving faithfully and honorably, Glenn retired from the United State Army in 1985– receiving a good conduct medal and an honorable discharge.
Glenn confessed Christ at an early age and later joined Mt. Ephraim Baptist Church, Atlanta,
Georgia, where he became an ordained Deacon.
Glenn loved his family and friends unconditionally and would do anything to help a person in need. Glenn was an avid Auburn football fan and routed for his team every season.
Glenn was preceded in death by his mother, step-father James Douglas, and brothers (Gary L.
“Bucky” Wade, James Russell Sr., and Michael Russell);
He leaves behind to cherish his memories; a daughter, Brandi Nicole Wade, Lawrenceville, GA; a son, Glenn Wade Jr.; a granddaughter, Legacy Shavonne Wade, both of Tucker, GA; three sisters – Yvonne Gillespie, Huntsville, AL, Joanne Dillapree, Oneonta, AL, Cynthia Russell, Bessemer, AL; a brother, Carlton Russell Sr., Grand Prairie, TX; special sisters, Jeanette Russell, Oneonta, AL, Theresa
Nobles, Talladega, AL, sister-in-law Jackie Russell, Pell City, AL, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Public viewing will be Wednesday, November 13, 2024 from 2pm-4pm.
On Thursday, November 14, the body will lie in state from 10am to 12 noon.
Graveside services will be on Thursday, November 14, 2024 at 2:00pm at the Alabama National Cemetery. Address: 3133 Hwy 119, Montevallo, AL 35115.
