Mrs. Donnyiece Elmore Tayloy Hoyett passed away on Wednesday, August 18, 2021 at home surrounded by her loveones. Obituary Ms. Donnyiece Elmore Taylor Hoyett, affectionately known as, “Donny Boo” was born to Elijah Houston and Dortha Jo Adam’s and adopted at 6wks old by loving, caring parents Frank and Vennie C Elmore.
Donnyiece accepted Christ at an early age and united with Goodsell UMC with Mission Baptist Church being her final church home.
She was educated in the Gadsden City School System and graduated Nursing School in 1987 and dedicated her life to taking care of those who could no longer care for themselves until she retired 20 years later.
She loved God and going to church. She was an avid shopper and never met a stranger! She was well-known in the nursing home communities. She absolutely adored her grandchildren and great-grandchildren!
She was preceded in death by her birth and adoptive parents, sister Jacquelin Latham, brother Joe Wilson, sister, Elisha Reeves.
Donnyiece leaves to cherish 4 children: Cheryl Jones, Gadsden , Calvin Jerome Taylor, Jr (Tara), Acworth, GA, Mia Sabrina Hoyett, Hayward, CA, and Amy Hoyett (Darren), Birmingham, AL. 8 grandchildren: Rodney Jones Jr, William Lessel Jones, Maya Lindsey, Tairice Coleman, Daizhara Hoyett, Isaiah Taylor, Kevin Taylor, and Marcus Taylor. 6 great grandchildren: Ace, Kaison, Major, Kaylin, Maceo, and Tyson.
Siblings: Teresa Brookins and Tamatha Dubose of Gadsden, Brenda Ellis, Cynthia Dickerson, and David Lewis Vaughn all of Detroit, Michigan, Ethel Davidson of Gadsden, Edmond Jones of Flint, Michigan. Special loved ones : Aaron Hoyett, Cynthia McClure, Dorothy Gonzalez Jones. Bonus daughter; Stephanie Whorton Chapman.
A host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.
The family would like to thank Dr. Narayan, Dr. Kwan/Hwang/Eta, Dr. Echeverri, Dr.Akisanya and the staff of RRMC, GRMC HH, Southern Care and ProHealth Hospice.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, 12 noon -8pm. Family our will be from 6pm-8pm.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, August 25, 2021 at 2:00 at the Mission Baptist Church.
