Mrs. Irene Lyles, 82, of Gadsden, passed away on Wednesday, February 5, 2025.

She is survived by her loving family.

Ms. Irene W. Hughes Lyles was born on April 22, 1942, to Mr. Robert and Mrs. Annie Lou Walley in Marshall County, AL. She was one of seven children born to this family. Irene was a devout Christian who enjoyed reading the bible, helping others and spending time with her children and grandchildren. She will always be remembered for her spunky personality and loving heart that she had for anyone she encountered.

Irene was preceded in death by her parents Robert and Annie Lou Walley; husband Truman Hughes; siblings Beatrice Phelps, Martha Scales, Emma Johnson, John Robert Walley, Leonard Walley and Lonnie Walley.

Left to Cherish Her memories are her children, Carolyn (William, Jr.) Jones, Robert Wade (Shirley) Hughes and Truman Edward (Greg) Hughes; grandchildren Whitney Hughes, Will Jones and Anna Jones; great-grandchildren Lilye Hughes, Corbin Hughes and Kylie Hughes.

Public Visitation will be held at 1pm on Saturday, February 8, 2025 at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson Chapel).
