Mrs. Joyce Posey, 69, of Gadsden, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024.
Joyce Lorain Posey, born July 4, 1954, to the proud parents of Melvin Hall Jr. and Martha Mallory Hall.
Joyce departed this life June 20, 2024 in exchange for eternal life.
She completed her education at Gadsden High School graduating with the Class of 1973.
After completing high school, she married the late William E. Woods and the late Eugene Posey.
March 27, 2006, Eugene and Joyce were inseparable until death.
Joyce was a very hard-working mother and loyal employee. Over the years she demonstrated good work ethics to: Health Tex, Gold Kist, Shoney’s, Sears and Shephard Heart.
Watching football with her family was her favorite pass time. It was thrilling to watch her excitement as
she cheered “War Eagle,” truly an Auburn fan.
She was proceeded in death by her loving husband, Eugene Posey; son Cedrick Woods; step daughter
Angela Posey, parents Melvin Hall Jr. & Martha Mallory Hall, grandparents Millage & Jossie Mallory and brother Cecil Hall.
At an early age she confessed Christ at Antioch Baptist Church. Later uniting with Tribulation Baptist.
As she continued her spiritual growth uniting with Mount Zion Baptist Church, East Gadsden under the
leadership of Pastor Willie Sayles. As the ministry revolved to new leadership Pastor Z’Andre Huff she
embraced change and continued to enjoy the music ministry by giving of her talents. One of her many
favorites songs was “Going with Jesus.”
Joyce leaves loving memories two sons: Kelvin Woods, Ulandaus (Larameka) Woods. Three step sons: Earnest, Anthony and Janell Posey. Daughter in law: Sylvia Woods, Grand Children: Amir Brown,
Jamesha Owens, Sheretta(William) Campbell, Jasmine Bradford, Jamontez, Jamontavius Woods, Javiyion
Wilson, Jainiyia Norris, Ji’Zeric Wynn, Jedidiah Wynn, Je’Siah Wynn. Ten Great Grand Children.
Joyce was the fourth of seven siblings; Bobby “Scobo” (Charlotte Allen) Lindsey, Gladys McGlothin,
Margaret Hall, Jimmy (Janice) Hall, Bruce Hall, Sharon Hall. Special sibling; Robert Posey. Brothers &
Sisters in law: Jackie Fisher, Lynwood, Vonda, Derrick and Edmond (Julia) Martin. Aunts: Junnie,
Georgianne and Emma Hall; and a host of other relatives and friends.
We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
Public viewing will be Friday, June 28, 2024, an hour prior to the service at 11am.
Services will be Friday, June 28, 2024 at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, East Gadsden, AL at 12noon. Eulogist: Pastor Grover Robinson. Interment: Rainbow Memorial Gardens.

I'm so sorry for your loss but I'm happy for her no more of this world's grief. I'm just now knowing of her transition and home going. We spent many Sundays together at Tribulation church house. To the loved ones I sincerely send condolences. She was a wonderful woman to me. Milton
