Mrs. Lula Mae Waters, 91, of Gadsden, AL passed away on Saturday, September 16, 2023. We ask that you please keep this family in your hearts and prayers during this time of bereavement.
Mrs. Lula Mae Waters was born to the late Mr. and Mrs. Tom and Jessie Gary on December 26, 1931, in Gadsden, Alabama. Lula accepted Christ at an early age and united with Galilee Baptist Church under the Pastoral leadership of Rev. E. L. Gary. She was united in Holy Matrimony with the late Carlton Lee Harp, Jr. and then the late Ed Waters. She worked as a nurse at Battle State Regional Hospital in Rome, GA and Atlanta Regional Hospital, Atlanta, GA.
She was a hard worker who loved her family and friends. She was compassionate about her Church and worked faithfully with them until her health failed.
She leaves to cherish her memory, two sons Carlton Lee Harp, III (Denise), Fairburn, GA and Gary Harp, (Lucy), Gadsden, AL. One Sister Betty Jean Horton, Gadsden, AL; Four grandchildren: Angela Renee Prattis (Derrick), Philadelphia, PA; Carlton Lee
Harp, IV, Shreveport, LA; Catrice LaDell Harp, East Point, GA; and Garron Dontevious Johnson, Peachtree Corners, GA; Three great grandchildren, Tyre’ L. Macon, DeChe’ L. Prattis and Derrick S. Prattis, Jr.; Two nieces: Poetry McCrimon, Gary, Indiana; Vanessa
Bethel, Huntsville, AL; Three nephews, Jimmy Horton (Nerida); Gary Horton (Jennifer); Tony Horton (Shun); and a host of other and friends.
Public viewing will be 12noon-6pm on September 22, 2023 at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty Dean Robinson Chapel).
Funeral Services will be 2pm September 23, 2023 at Galilee Baptist Church with burial at Lincoln Hill Cemetery.
