Our beloved Mother, Stella Delores Ager Pitts, 74, passed away peacefully at UAB Hospital on August 17, 2025.
She was born on November 23, 1950 to the late Anderson & Mary Frances Ager.
She was a graduate of Carver High School, the Class of 1970.
Stella Pitts retired after 45 years of service at Holy Name of Jesus Hospital now known as Riverview Regional Medical Center.
She will be remembered for her cooking and shopping and her sweet spirit. She believed in spending time with her family. She was a true woman of God and her favorite verse in the bible was Psalm 23.
She was preceded in death by: Her parents, Anderson & Mary Frances Ager; her husband, Lorenzo Charles Pitts; sisters, Anna Ager, Diane Ager, and Barbara Ager.
She leaves her beautiful memories to: her daughters, Theresa Ager, Tina Ager and Brenda Pitts; sons, Tyjay Arnold, Lorenzo Pitts Jr, and Tyrone Brasher; Grandchildren, Johnny Jackson, Shaunquisha, Ann Caver, Aaliyah Ager, Myeshia Mason, Chadrick Anderson, Tamera Mason, Daijohn Pitts, and Ariel Brasher; Great Grandchildren, Camouri Anderson, Camya Anderson and Essence Edwards; sisters, Mattie Ager, and Patricia Ager Jones; brother, Anderson Ager and a host of cousins, other relatives and friends.
We ask that you please keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
Funeral services will be Friday, August 29, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the West Gadsden Funeral Home (Reverend Dr. G.E. & Betty Robinson Chapel)

Stella always greeted you with a warm smile and had a kind word to say. God has allowed her to lie down in His green pasture. May you find comfort knowing that she loved the Lord. My condolences to the family.
Stella was a soft spoken woman. I enjoyed speaking with Stella as we talked on many occasions. I will miss exchanging words and laugh with her about her Children as well as her grandchildren. RIP Stella you will surely be miss.
