Mrs. Willie Mae LaCount passed away on July 8, 2021.

Willie Mae LaCount was born April 2, 1939 to the late Herman Wright Sr. and the late Mattie Lou Reed Wright in (Perry County) Marion, AL.
She graduated from Lincoln High School, Class of 1957 in Marion, AL.
She confessed Christ and became a member of Berean Baptist Church in Marion, AL. After moving to Gadsden, AL, she moved her membership to Bethlehem Baptist Church of Gadsden, AL. Later she moved her membership to Friendship Baptist Church of Attalla, AL, where she served and supported the church faithfully.
Willie Mae was a beloved mother, grandmother, great -grandmother, niece, sister, cousin and friend.
In the year of 1960, Willie Mae married Alfred LaCount Sr. and together they raised six children.
Willie Mae Loved traveling, ironing, washing clothes, housekeeping, taking care of her grandkids and great- grands. She loved to listen to her radio, gospel music and blues. One of her favorite blues singers was Jimmy Reed.
On July 8, 2021, she transitioned to her eternal resting place. She was preceded in death by her parents, Herman Wright Sr. & Mattie Lou Reed Wright; Husband, Alfred LaCount Sr.; Grandson, Kenton LaCount and Colby Looney; Aunts, Ruth Sumpter, Annie Bell Thomas. Juah Green; Special cousins, Mary Jenkins and Thelma Munford; Special friend, Betty Jenkins.
Willie Mae is survived by four sons, Lavon (Yuvette) LaCount of Birmingham, AL, Alfred (Melanie) LaCount of Delaware, OH, Billy (Yolanda) LaCount of Gadsden, AL, and Kenneth (Kelly) LaCount. Two daughters, Ethel (Pierre) LsCharles of Gadsden, AL and Donna (Anthony) Looney of Guntersville, AL. Two brothers, Frank (Sabrina) Wright Of Savannah, GA and Lynn Wright of Montgomery, AL. Two sisters, Joy (Gabriel) Jones and Laura Wright, both of Marion, AL; One sister-in-law, Myra Carmachael of Atlanta, GA; Grandchildren, Myisha LaCount, J’Lynn Booker, Kioshana (Matt) Burrell, Myron (Kelsie) Knox, Morgan (Brooke) Matthis, Cameron (Brittany) Matthis, Anne LsCharles, Tasha LsCharles, Lavontae LaCount, Kiara LaCount, Adrian LaCount, Brandon (Lana) Booker of Attalla, AL and Tansley LaCount. 14 great- grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Services will be Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at Friendship Baptist Church, Attalla, AL, At 1:00 pm.
Public viewing will be Tuesday, 12noon until. Family Hour will be Tuesday, 5-8 pm.

To the Children's of the late Mrs. Willie Mae LaCount, I am saddened to hear of the passing of you all mother. I remember her fondness each time we would greet each other. Her smile and kindness were reflections of her true SPIRIT. I extend my sympathy to each of you. May her Soul forever rest in peace.
