Betty Underwood, of Gadsden, passed away on Saturday, June 7, 2025. She is survived by her loving family. We ask that you keep this family in your hearts and prayers during their time of bereavement.
The Obituary
Betty Mae Underwood was born to the late Theresia Underwood and the late Eldis Ray on April 19, 1967, in Gadsden Alabama. Betty transitioned on to Glory June 7, 2025. She graduated from Gadsden High School in 1985. There she played volleyball on that dynamic team that went to the State Playoff. She attended Gadsden State before joining the workforce. She worked several jobs: Tyson Foods(QC), Gold Kist, KFC (manager), and Captain D’s (manager) to name a few and wore many hats with many names.
She was preceded in death by her mother Theresia Underwood; father Eldis Ray; grandmother Betty Jean Moore Underwood; grandfather Loveless Underwood; brother Erron Underwood; uncles George and John Underwood; aunt Ronia Underwood Boyd; and cousin Jonathan Boyd.
She leaves to cherish her memories to her one and only son, Jer’Maine Underwood and granddaughter Jer’Mila Underwood; sister Jeanetta Underwood and brothers Randall (Oliviana) Underwood and Brandall Underwood; nephews D’Argenski Underwood and Javier Olivares; nieces Dymonn Underwood, Matalyn Underwood and Juana Olivares; great nieces Kaylee Underwood and Khori Underwood; a host of cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
Family Hour will be held from 6pm-8pm on Friday, June 13, 2025 at West Gadsden Funeral Home.
Funeral Services will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Mission Baptist Church.
