Obituary for Ms. Eloise Williams

Obituary

Ms. Eloise Williams was born March 6, 1932 in St. Clair County, AL to the late Mr. Ross Williams and Drucilla Turner Williams.

At an early age, Ms. Williams accepted Christ and united with Overcoming Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ, under the leadership of Bishop Charles Williams, where she was a faithful member and served on the Usher Board until her health failed.

Ms. Williams transitioned from this life to glory on Sunday, April 11, 2021 in the comfort of her home.

Ms. Williams had a heart of gold. Although she gave birth to seven children of her own, there were many who called her, “Momma Ella” and “The Queen of Ashville.” She had a passion for cooking and feeding all who wanted to eat. To know her was to love her. She had a radiant smile that would brighten any dark room. She stepped in as a mom to all of her deceased siblings children.

Ms. Williams was preceded in death by her son, Melvin Williams; Five sisters, Bessie Whisenant, Emma Holliday, Clara Green, Mattie Johnson, and Annie Jo Williams; Four brothers, Willis Williams, Jo Louis Williams, Sam Williams and Henry Williams; Granddaughter, Ferlando Whisenant. She leaves a multitude of memories to be cherished in the lives of her six children. Two daughters, Nell (Elester) Williams of Gadsden, AL and Shariel (Yaw) Brown, of Gadsden, AL; Four sons, Lethaniel Williams, of Ashville, AL, Randy (India) Williams of Gadsden, Al, Dale (Tonya) Williams of Gadsden, AL and Lawrence (Ashley) Williams of Panama City, FL; Two brothers, S.J. (Shelia) Williams of Ashville, AL and Wesley (Louise) Williams of Gadsden, AL; Two sister-in-laws, Eloise Williams of Gadsden, AL and Carolyn Williams of Ashville, AL; 28 grandchildren, numerous great and great-great grandchildren. A legacy of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mrs. Eloise Williams passed away, Sunday, April 11, 2021 at home.
