Ms. Peggy Reana Turner, 73, of Gadsden, AL passed away on Tuesday, April 23, 2024.
She is survived by her loving family.

Ms. Peggy Reana Turner was born on September 1, 1950, to the late Charles E. Turner and Annie P. Herring. Peggy was educated in the Attalla and Gadsden City School System. She attended Central Elementary, Norris High School and Carver Highschool, graduating class of 1967. Ms. Turner later obtained a Registered Nursing degree where she impacted the lives of many by working in various hospitals, nursing homes and home health care agencies in Etowah County. She also was a travel Nurse, retiring in 2006.
She began her Christian journey in the early 1980’s. She joined Community Baptist Church, East Cleveland, OH under the leadership of the late Richard C. Maddox whom she loved dearly! Their relationship was so profound that Pastor Maddox made several trips to Alabama after she moved from Ohio just to visit her.
Peggy had many joys, some including music, baking, studying the Bible, attending the FBFA Conferences and being part of Prayer/Bible Study groups with her Cleveland Church Family. Once in Alabama, she visited with many local church’s, the most recent being Mission Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Grady E. Robinson, Jr.
Peggy was preceded in death by her parents, Charles E. Turner and Annie P. Herring; Grandparents, John and Annie Herring of Newbern, AL., William and Maria Alexander of Gadsden, AL., and Wiley and Minola Turner of Gadsden, AL.
She leaves to cherish her loving memories: 2 daughters, Makesha Turner of Gadsden, AL. and Angelia Turner of Organevale, CA; grandchildren: Christopher Turner of Gadsden, AL., Ja’Shan Turner of Orangevale, CA.,; Great-Grandchildren: Chrislynn Turner, Christopher A. Turner, and Kash (Money) Turner all of Gadsden, AL.; Sister, Annitta Turner-Love (Millbrook, AL); Brother Jonathan (Elaine) Turner of Cleveland, OH., Nephews: Sebastian (Consuelo) Love of Dallas, TX, Kacy Turner-Love (Millbrook, AL); Great Nieces Martina Perry of Montgomery, AL., Kwantia McClain of Wetumpka, AL.; Great Nephews Damian Love of Dallas, TX and Spencer Love of Portland, OR.; Special Cousin George “Sonny Boy” Newson of Gadsden, AL.; Special friends: Charolette Slade of Cleveland, OH., Adrian McClinton of Cleveland, OH., Martha Knight of Gadsden, AL., Judy Bethune of Gadsden, AL., Louidell “Flitter” Townsend of Atlanta, GA., Rugenia Moore of Gadsden, AL., Barbara Jones of Gadsden, AL., Marion Underwood of Gadsden, AL., Janice Brisker of Gadsden, AL., Glenda Beavers of Gadsden, AL., and Brenda Ford-Barnett.
Public Visitation will be held on Friday, May 3, 2024 at West Gadsden Funeral Home from 3pm-6pm.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 at West Gadsden Funeral Home (Betty D. Robinson Chapel) at 3:00pm.
