Today we come together to celebrate the life and legacy of Peter Turner, born June 2, 1982, in Gadsden, Alabama. We gather in this sacred moment to comfort one another in our grief, especially his loving parents, William and Debbie Turner. As
we reflect on and honor Peter’s life, our hearts are heavy with sorrow, yet grateful for the time we were blessed to share with him.
On December 24, 2025, Peter transitioned to his Heavenly home, where he reunited with those who preceded him in death: his grandfather, Frederick Buchanan; grandmothers, Lillie Buchanan and Dovie Turner; uncle, Frederick Buchanan, Jr.; and aunts, Betty Wilson and Teresa Young. Peter was educated in the Gadsden City School System and attended Gadsden City High School. His life was filled with
hope, music, and joy, and he was an exceptional bass guitarist. Known for his kindness, laughter, and vibrant spirit, Peter was often the life of the party. He found great pleasure in sports, especially cheering for his beloved Auburn Tigers and Tennessee Titans. Above all else, Peter cherished his roles as a father, son, brother, uncle, and grandfather, holding a particularly special place in his heart for his nephew.
Honoring Peter’s memory is his loved ones he left behind: loving parents, William and Debbie Turner; devoted friend, Sophia Freeman; his daughter, Legacy (Dakota) Carden; son, J’Lee (Ally) Turner; grandchildren, Avayah and Beckham Carden;
sister, Crystal Turner; nephew, Kristian Whiteside; aunts, Nizzie (Fred) Sullivan, Dorothy Turner, and Darlene Strickland; uncles, Steven (Sherry) Buchanan, Graylin Buchanan, Lester Turner, and Reginald Young; special cousins, Melissa Dupree and Gabriel Dupree; special friends, Chad Hill, Antron Brookins, Darryl
Green, Sherman Montgomery, Walter Clay, Daryl Watts and Maria Freeman and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives
and friends.
