Obituary For Sharon Ware McEachern

Sharon McEachern was born Sharon Ware on July 1, 1965 at Kings County Hospital in Brooklyn, New York to Yvonne Marie Ware. As the eldest of four children raised by a single mother, she grew up close to her siblings - twin brothers Dwight (who precedes her in death) and Dwyane Ware, and her baby sister Denise (Ware) Brown. Her grandparents, Ursula and William Ware, were pillars in her life as well, moving the family to South Jamaica Queens, New York where Sharon would come of age. In Queens, Sharon attended PS 45, P.S. 223, I.S. 8, and then Thomas Edison Career and Technical Education High School where she studied architectural drafting and blueprinting. Following high school, Sharon held a myriad of jobs, everything from Security Guard to Home Health Aide. Her favorite job was at the Historic Loft’s Candy Factory where she worked with her sister Denise and her dear friend Beverly James. Sharon loved to craft, crochet, and create in every way.
In 1989, Sharon married and gave birth to her first daughter - Montinique McEachern. In 1992, she welcomed her second daughter - Nasharra McEachern. In 1995, she completed her family with her youngest daughter - Sharrnique McEachern. She divorced in that year as well, moving back home with her mother and grandmother to raise her three girls. As a single mother in New York City, Sharon saw the inequalities her community faced and became a fierce local advocate for children’s education. You could often find her at PTA meetings, recommending safety protocols for the school, or volunteering. In 2005 she moved her family to Ashville, Alabama where she continued raising her three daughters. She became a grandmother in 2021 when her daughter Nasharra welcomed the birth of Giannis Hindsman and again in 2023 with the birth of Asante Hindsman. Becoming a grandmother gave new meaning to Sharon’s life. Her “Moot” and “Toot” were her pride and joy.
Sharon passed away on June 4, 2026. Her sudden loss was unexpected and her family is profoundly heartbroken. She leaves to cherish her memories: three daughters - Montinique, Nasharra, and Sharrnique; two grandsons - Giannis and Asante; a sister - Denise Brown; a brother - Dwyane Ware; three nephews - Dwight, DeQuan, and Devon; one niece - Daysha; four great-nephews - Nakeem, Nazir, Amilio, and Loyalty; and one great-niece - Azaray. Along with her family, Sharon leaves a host of dear loved ones, friends, cousins, community members, coworkers, neighbors, and companions to celebrate her life. She was a strong woman who could laugh even in the hardest of times. She is cherished and she will be missed.

Auntie I am so lost for words. You helped me, your niece Daysha, through unimaginable times. You gave me shelter, warmth, unconditional love, the best comfort I could ever have. To the stern talks all the way to your chicken cornbread. You always had such a beautiful light no matter what was going on. You showed every day so much resilience and strength that I could never amount to. You were the family to strangers, you could make a whole line in WalMart crack up because of your joyous soul. May your soul never fade , lord jesus please keep apart of her soul with all of us, we need it. Amen. I love you all.

To my first big cousin, my protector especially when I was scared to go in the basement, my bologna fryer(Because you were the only one Sula allowed near the stove) lol, the one who I could look at and we would cry laughing at our own little secret joke. I will miss that big laugh that matched a big heart and smile. I'm sure God said well done and welcomed you out of pain and suffering. You did that cuz.
