West Gadsden announces the passing of Tarrance Smothers, 54, of Gadsden ,Al who passed away Tuesday, March 11, 2026, at Riverview Regional Medical Center. He is survived by his loving family. We ask that you please keep this family in your heart and prayers during their time of bereavement.

Tarance Adolph Smothers, age 54, born January 20th 1972 passed away March 11th 2026.

Tarance will always be remembered for his goofy smile, his silly jokes, and his free spirit. He lived his life like there was no tomorrow and brought laughter and joy to everyone who knew him. His fun loving personality and kind heart made him someone people will never forget.

He was preceded in death by parents Patricia Ann Smothers and Willie Turner; sister Renea Turner; and his grandparents J.W. White and Vester Mae Williams .

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving spouse Tangelia McElrath; his children Jaydon and Tarance; siblings Reggie Douglas, Tyrone Stroud, Cassandra Turner, Janice Turner, Kim Carter and Julia Ann Coleman. He also leaves behind numerous family members and friends who will miss him dearly.

Though he is gone from this world he will remain in the hearts of those he left behind.
