Obituary For Verdis Seals

Verdis Moore Seals was born December 2, 1929 in Ensley, AL to the late Willie Moore, Sr and the late Bertha Smith Moore. She departed her life on June 30, 2020 in Gadsden, AL.

Verdis confessed Christ at an early age. She was raised in Jasper, AL and after high school she relocated to New York, NY. She was married to the late George Seals and they resided in Gadsden, AL. Verdis enjoyed helping people and was a domestic worker for the majority of her life.

She is preceded in death by her daughter Charlene Moore Embry of Gadsden, AL and her great-grandson, Dontavious Watson of Gadsden, AL; great-niece, Lashunna Moore of Jasper, AL; also, her brothers Willie Moore Jr. of Washington, D.C., Samuel Moore of New York, NY and sister, Jean Anderson of Brooklyn, NY.

Verdis leaves to cherish her memories her son Charles “Glen” Moore of New York, NY; her grandchildren, Courtney Winborn, Talvish Winborn, Annissa Embry, and Chiquita Seals; great grandchildren Charnae’ Watson, Ridge (Raveen) Embry, Jimmy Williams III, and Paris Greystone; great-great grandchildren; Raiza Embry and Roma Embry all of Gadsden, AL; one sister Julia Lewis of Deland, FL; two brothers, Raymond Moore and Clarence “Sonny” Moore, both of New York, NY.

She also leaves to cherish nephews; Willie (Sally) Moore III of Jasper, AL, Theo Moore of New York, NY; nieces, Pamela Lewis and Stephanie Lewis of Deland, FL; great-nephew, Willie C. Moore (LaKesha) of Tuscaloosa, AL and a host of other nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews; long-time friend, Mattie Lindsey of Gadsden, AL; and many other family and friends.

Celebration of life services will be 1p.m. Saturday July 11,2020 in the (Betty D. Robinson) Chapel of West Gadsden Funeral Home Cremation Services will follow.
