Alice Deloris Evege-Williams affectionately called Sister Baby, Diva, Ms. Alice, Pretty Lady, Lil Baby, and Rangerette, was born on July 3, 1951, in Jackson, MS, to the parents of Walter Lee Evege Sr. and Cletora Carter - Evege.
Alice departed this life on Friday, June 7, 2024, at her home in Jackson, MS, surrounded by family. She was an exceptionally devoted mother, sister, aunt, daughter, wife, and friend.
Alice completed high school at Lanier in Jackson, MS, and studied Spanish and English at the Honors College at Jackson State University. Alice activated her professional WHY by serving as an award -winning telephone operator at BellSouth.
An avid reader since her early years, Alice also had a passion for languages, music, and dancing. In the 1960’s, she was a majorette at Lanier High School and continued her love for the performing arts her entire life. Her amazing gift of creating delicious cuisines was therapeutic, and she lovingly shared her southern dishes with a host of family, church members, and friends.
Alice is survived and missed by her four sons: Wesley Gene II (Alexandria, VA), Dr. Darius Omar (Sacramento, CA), Dameon Demil (Jackson, MS), and Rahman Cemal (Jackson, MS); sister, Juanita of (Jackson, MS), brothers Larry and Harry of (Jackson, MS), brother Victor of (Anaheim, CA), and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Alice was preceded in death by her son, Cedric Damond; father, Walter Lee Sr.; mother, Cletora; sister, Glories Ann; and brothers, Otha Lee, Bobby Ray, and Walter Lee Jr.
Her life and legacy will forever be remembered as a praying mother with a fierce love for and devotion to her beloved boys.
Visitation Friday, June 14, 2024 at Westhaven Funeral Home - Jackson Branch from 9:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., family will greet family and friends at 6:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.
