Ashley Danielle Grant was born on April 7, 1982 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Mr. Ralph Grant, Sr and Mrs. Cassandra Grant. She was the youngest of three children born to this union.
Ashley accepted Christ at an early age at Lynch Street C.M.E. Church. She became a dedicated member, attended with her mother and was baptized shortly after. She also enjoyed service at her father's family church "Mount Nebo" throughout her young years. As an adult, she continued to enjoy worship with her church family at Lynch Street C.M.E. until she was called home to be with the Lord.
Ashley graduated from Wingfield High School in May of 2000. She also furthered her education at Hinds Community College in Raymond, MS. Her passion for children led her to pursue a role in childcare at New Jerusalem. Her love of serving others was lated shifted to adults.
Ashley had an infectious smile that would light up a room and bring joy to everyone in her presence. It was hard to be unhappy if you were close to her. It would only take one smile and a big hug for you to feel her gentle spirit. No one was a stranger to Ashley. Everyone that knew her loved her. Her laughter, humor, and kind-hearted soul served as a beacon of light in this world and left a lasting impression with every life she touched. She has always been truly passionate about people.
There is no person on earth that Ashley was more passionate about then her only son Alijah. Alijah was born on February 6, 2003 to Ashley and his loving father Donovan Thomas. Ashley put of her energy into making Alijah happy. They were best friends and you could see the love in every interaction.
On Tuesday, April 9, 2019, Ashley received her wings. Ashley leaves to cherish her memories a dedicated and loving son, Alijah Thomas, her mother, Cassandra Grant; grandmother, Dorothy Young, brothers, Ralph Grant, II, and Randy Grant; nephews, Armand, Blake, Aiden and Aithan; nieces, Neciayaa and Amayah and a host of great aunts, great uncles, aunts, uncles, cousins and special friends.
Oh my dear sweet sister in law. I miss your laugh and long conversations. There are no words that can explain how much I miss and love you. You will forever be my Sister, confidant and friend. I love you Ashley.

I continue to pray for you Sand....May the word of God comfort you as it has me in my many hard places. The word of God says in 2 Corinthians 1: 3... "Blessed be God, even the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies, and the GOD of ALL COMFORT; ...Who comforteth us in ALL our tribulation, that we may be able to comfort them which are in trouble, by the comfort wherewith we ourselves are comforted of GOD'. God knows, God see, and God hears you. (Michele @ TMK)
