Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 30, 2020 at 11:00 a.m., Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.
Mother Beatrice Manuel Carter was born to the late Fred Manuel, Sr. and Mary Ethel Wilcher Manuel on September 29, 1933 in Jackson, Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 56 years and the love of her life William Carter, Sr., two sons, William Carter, Jr. and Bennie Carter and one daughter, Margaret Carter. She was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Ethel Manuel Lane, Josephine Manuel Kendrick and Rosie Lee Manuel Lewis.
Mother Carter received her education form Christian Missionary and Industrial College (CM&I). She was employed by Jackson Public Schools as a baker in the cafeteria and later retired as a School Crossing Guard for the district.
Mother Beatrice Manuel Carter married William Carter, Sr. on April 9, 1950 and this union was blessed with seven children.
Mother Carter confessed to Christ at an early age and united with Cynthia Church of Christ Holiness USA under the leadership of Rev. Jessie Graham. She was a faithful member of the Sunday School, United Christian Women's Ministries and Mother Board. She also served as a member of the Pastor Aid, Senior Choir and Christin Chorus.
Mother Beatrice Manuel Carter leaves to cherish her special memories: three sons, James Lee Stephen Carter, Freddie Lee Carter and Wilbert Lee Carter of Jackson, MS and one daughter, Carolyn Carter Brooks of Decatur, GA; two daughters in law, Loreta Carter and Rosie Carter of Jackson, MS, twelve grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren and host of nieces, nephews and other loving family members and friends.
