Debra Ann Casey Paige was the only child born to Dorothy Casey and Willie Clarence Thomas (deceased) in Yazoo County, Mississippi on May 3, 1954. She grew up as an active member of Tulane M.B. Church in Yazoo City, Mississippi, and later joined Anderson United Methodist Church where she served with the United Methodist Women; and thereafter, New Hope Baptist Church where she was a faithful member of the Sunday School Ministry. Debra attended St. Francis Catholic School for grades 1 – 9, and was a proud graduate of Yazoo City High School - Class of 1971. She later attended Tougaloo College where she earned a B.A. degree in Psychology in 1975. She then furthered her education and earned a Master’s Degree in Guidance and Counseling from Jackson State University, and later became a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated. On August 15,, 1981, Debra married the love of her life, Bennie F. Paige, and to this union, two (2) children were born – Millicent Casey Paige and Kyle Seaton Paige. Debra also welcomed two additional daughters, Janerica Paige and Alisha Paige, whom she nurtured and loved as her own. Debra was a human resource professional. She held professional and managerial positions with Jitney Jungle Stores of America, Lextron-Vistion of Nissan, and also Saks, Incorporated, until retiring in 2016. She was the epitome of professionalism, and had impeccable leadership skills. Nothing was more important to Debra than her faith and family. She truly loved the Lord, had a heart of gold, was as beautiful on the inside as she was on the outside, and left positive impressions upon every life that she touched. On October 18, 2020, Debra transitioned from her earthly home to take her rest with the Lord. She is survived by her praying mother, Dorothy; her loving husband and devoted caregiver, Bennie; their two (2) children: Millicent and Kyle (Shanika Smith); two (2) step-daughters: Janerica and Alisha; five (5) grandchildren, Paige, Marcus Jr., Kyle Jr., Kason, and Ryan Rae; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Debra also leaves behind her network of supportive sister-friends who kept her grounded until the end: Rebecca Turner-Berry, Mamie Dennis, Michelle Espy Matlock, Remona Suttlar, Sheila Scott, Glinda Scott, and Dr. Rose Straughter. Her dear friend, Clara Ree Bowman, preceded her in death.
Debra was truly a beautiful in body and soul. Whenever our paths crossed, it was a pleasure to be in her company and be the beneficiary of her seeing her smile and sharing a loving conversation with her. Family, please know you'll see Debra again on the other side and you'll be united forever in GOD's love.
I wish I knew of her passing earlier. My grandmother was her Aunt Pearlie Casey Terrell. I was able to meet Cousin Ann during my visit to YaZoo in 2013 or 2014. May God bless you and the entire family. Dr. Taneen Brinson

It saddens my heart to find out about my friend Debra's demise. Five months have lapsed, and when I heard the news in mid-March 2021, the impact literally hit me like a concussion. We were childhood friends, and somehow we lost contact as adults. This doesn't lessen our great times spent during our formative years with her and her mom. May God strengthen and continue to keep all of you by keeping her memories alive indefinitely. "Casey," as I called her, was a keeper.
