Sincerest condolences to Hazel, Carlos and family. May your fond memories bring you peace and comfort at this most difficult time. As you know Dorothy's death leaves a void not only in my life, but also the lives of others. She will be greatly missed by her family, her former co-workers and by all the members of the two organizations with which she labored tirelessly, Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Incorporated and The Links, Incorporated.
Your loved one touched and changed the lives of friends, students and faculty at various schools, colleges and universities. Our dear Dorothy has served her time well. So well that God has now promoted her from labor to reward. May He cradle you in His arms as you navigate these new waters.

I knew Dr. Stokes from Belhaven. Although I didn't have the opportunity to work directly with her she was always a bundle of joy and support. Her warm embrace was needful as I started my first adjunct journey. Strength for the journey. Hazel Henderson 🙏🙏

I have known the Boyd family since my days at Utica Junior College. I taught some of the younger sisters. I met Dorothy later on when she was a Principal i Crystal Springs and had the great privilege of working in her school as a consultant. Later, we would become friends through Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc. Beta Delta Omega Chapter, the Links, Incorporated LeFleur's Bluff Chapter and a Visiting Professor at Jackson State University. A lady of class, compassion, high intellect, service and beauty describe Dorothy. I will miss her because she believed and loved people. May her family and friends find peace in her service to God and others.
Dorothy and I worked together as faculty at Belhaven University. She was an elegant lady who gave inspiration to everyone she touched. Her students loved her and she contributed so much to those around her. May her family find comfort in knowing she loved her Lord and she is with loved ones. We shall miss her presence. May you have eternal Rest and Peace in the arms of our Lord and Savior, Jesus. I shall always remember us as the Great Class of '63, "stomping" around the campus of UJC. That's one of my great lifetime memories. Family, I pray God gives you the strength to master these difficult days ahead; and the peace and understanding that He is still good. God bless. I remember when Dorothy came to Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church (Madison). She asked someone "did they know Dan Jones' sister". That turned out to be me, Bertha (Thompson). Our friendship started that day. As the friendship developed, Dorothy shared many fun and loving memories of her siblings, children and grandchildren. My thoughts and prayers are that God will bless her family and give them peace!
Prayers of comfort and peace to the family of my loving Lake School Principal, who enjoyed a delicious serving of salisbury steak and rice!! "Onward to the prize before us! Soon His beauty we'll behold! Soon the pearly gates will open - We shall tread the streets of gold." Rest in Paradise, my friend!! {Joyce Hunt and Family}
