Rest in peace my brother ❤️❤️❤️
To the family of Devon Fletcher ( lovingly Roach)...I send condolences to you during this bereavement time. I will miss Roach, neighbor, we grew up together, he on Lucedale Street , and I on Macon Street .....In " THE WONDERFUL AREA OF THE CANYON"! #1! Roach was a nice, peaceful, hardworking man.....when he got older out of school and became a man. We were in class capers at Provine H.S. And he had singing talents. He had a mellow strong baritone/ bass voice and sang in a reknown choir formulated from mt. Nebo and every child and student from the canyon.....and surrounding areas, too. He lead the March in line for the West Jackson community choir. He was spiritual and if he couldn't help you he wasn't gonna hurt you. He would have congregations up and into the musicals WJCC was invited to, before we would get to the choir stand. I will miss his laugh, warm smile and always had jokes to make you feel better. Rest, bro., Roach...lead the line in heaven ...tramping, because you have made heaven your home ......Hush! Somebodys calling your name....and SWING LOW! your chariot has stopped by and has let you ride to your heavenly home. Those are your 3 marches....dedicated to you.....Devon Fletcher ....ROACH... Take your rest....your friends and neighbors loved.....from a canyon ...neighbor, friend and West Jackson Community member, to the end and classmate...Mary Linda Holden ..

My family and I extend condolences to the family of Dvon Fletcher. Continue to embody God's comfort in the name of Jesus the Christ. Cathy Tate Kimbrough, D.C.C.
Devon ("Roach") was one handsome, bowlegged, extra- warm teenager who loved to laugh, sing, and be a friend to our family. Oh, how I cared for him, as did all of the Redmonds. I don't know who nicknamed our friend "Roach", but there was never a negative or distasteful thought about his being called "Roach" in those good old formative and teenager years. That was his name to us... Even though, later in life, we lost close contact, my feelings of love toward him as a brother never waned.. He was our West Jackson Community Choir march-in leader; he was a strong bass singer; he was a friend to our family...Later, he chose to take some turns that led him down a path of ill- will, but we must believe that he was "Tramping Trying to Make Heaven His Home" even throughout those roads that many viewed as ominous and frivolous. If I could say something to Roach, I'd say: "Roach, I apologize for my slothfulness in maintaining our friendship — You are at peace; so, I hope that you are resting in that place of sleep - finally." In that "great getting up morning", only God knows who will make it in... I plan to be there to enter in, and I hope to see Roach, too. Importantly, lastly, may God bless Roach's family members who kindly facilitated his care at the end of his life.. Our mother, Mariah (Mudear), Celia, Jessie Mae, Jerry and Robert Redmond send their condolences to the family, also!
Our staff will continue to keep your family in our prayers. We thank you for allowing us to serve your family.
