Funeral services will be Friday, December 27, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Westhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 3580 Robinson Street, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.
Herbert M. Walker, Jr., 57, affectionately known as “Herb” passed away on Friday, December 20, 2019 at University of Mississippi Medical Center. Born March 27, 1962 in Jackson, Mississippi to Peggy Joyce Scott Walker and Herbert Melvin Walker, Sr. His father preceded him in death. He was the second of four children. Herbert Jr. graduated from Lanier High School, class of 1980. Following graduation, he earned an Associate Degree from Utica Jr. College in 1983 where he studied Art. Herbert Jr. worked with his late father for a time at Walker’s Upholstery Shop, but for the last 20 years, he has been employed with Crechales’ Restaurant in Jackson. He leaves to cherish his loving memories his devoted mother, Mrs. Peggy J. Walker; his siblings: brother, Mr. Christopher T. (Ann) Walker; sisters, Mrs. Karen E. (Willie) Sizer and Ms. Debra A. Walker, all of Jackson, MS; nieces, Clarissa Walker, Amber Walker and Alexis Sizer; great nephews, Ethan Mack and Jordan Walker; one aunt, Mrs. Doretha Smith; one uncle, Mr. Earl Douglas (Josie) Scott of O’Fallen, IL with a host of cousins, relatives, friends and co-workers.
I offer my deepest condolences to the family of Herbert, a young man who was a model student during his junior college attendance. May he rest eternally with Our Savior, Jesus the Christ.
