Funeral services will be Saturday, October 30, 2021 at 1:00 p.m., Coleman Chapel, 4662 Highway 43 South, Silver Creek, MS with burial in Coleman Church Cemetery, 4662 Highway 43 S., Silver Creek, MS.
Jerry Daniels, Sr. was born to the late Julius and Maxine Oatis Daniels on March 3, 1942 in Lawrence County, MS. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Mary Nell, Laura Bell, Shirley, Bessie, Yvonne, Frank, Ardell and Audrey. Jerry was employed at Magnetek Manufacturing Company for over 30 years. He was an avid farmer and enjoyed selling goods throughout the community in which he was often referred to as the “Fish Man”. He provided lawn care services to many and was a loyal and dedicated worker for Mr. Joe McGuffee. He joined Coleman Chapel Church of God in Christ under the leadership of Elder Adell Brown. On June 4, 1968, Jerry was joined in holy matrimony to Laura Mae Powell to this union six children were born. One child, Cora Jean Daniels preceded him in death. He leaves to cherish his memories a loving and devoted wife of 53 years, Laura Mae Powell Daniels; five children: Geraldine Mallard (Glen) of Georgetown, MS; Maxine Funchess (Anthony Sr.) of Pinola, MS; Laura Ann Gatlin (Dana) of Magee, MS; Jerry Daniels, Jr. (Calandra) of Clinton, MS; and Gary Daniels of Byram, MS; three sisters: Erma Newton of Bogalusa, LA; Eileen Daniels of Prentiss, MS; and Margie Daniels of Pinola, MS; eight grandchildren: Kendric, DeAsia, D’Andrea, Arielle, Anthony Jr., Chadwick, Tyrese, Joshua, Jeremiah, Addisyn, and Krys; seven great grandchildren; five sisters-in-law: Bertha Daniels, Virginia Daniels, Pauline Alexander, Emma Lou Stowers, and Ida Mae Mackey; two brothers-in-law: Willie Lee Powell and Ben McNair; a host of nieces, nephews, and friends.
