Brother Sammie, I am sending comfort and a deep sense of spiritual presence your way during this tender time. These are turbulent days unfolding in our world, and a life lived for ninety years has truly seen much, joy and sorrow, hope and hardship. At times, the violence and anti-life spirit that seem to grip our world can feel almost unbearable, and it is understandable when the heart grows weary. Scripture reminds us that God, in his mercy, knows when our eyes have become too tender to endure the weight of such evil, and he lovingly gathers his faithful home. Please know that we are lifting you and your entire family in prayer as you grieve the loss of your father. May the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Your excellent leadership and sterling character stand as a living testament to the kind of man who raised you. His legacy is clearly reflected in you, and through you it will continue to bless many.
