Funeral services will be Saturday, October 26, 2019 at 11:00 a.m., Spirit Word Fellowship M.B. Church, 301 Claiborne Avenue, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.
Mr. Johnnie Murriel Walker was born December 5, 1957 in Jackson, MS to Mr. Major and Mrs. Curlie C. Walker. Mr. Johnnie Murriel graduated from Wingfield High School and served in the U.S. Army. He was a Specialist 4th Class from (1975 - 1979). He was a professional truck driver for 84 Lumber/BLS Trucking 1986 - now. He loved his job never miss a day of work and he gave his all. He was a die hard Dallas Cowboys (Go Cowboys) and a Golden State Warriors (Go Warriors). He leaves to cherish his memories a special lady, Jacqueline Green; three daughters, Renada Carey, Johnnie Kersh (Troy) and Johnniya Walker (Steve), all of Jackson, MS; five sons, Gary Catchings of Jackson, MS; Jermaine Adams (Tammy) of Woodbridge, VA; Kevin Kersh of Jackson, MS; Jamory Hawkins of Austin, TX; and Rodriquez Caldwell of Jackson, MS; four sisters, Major Walker Gipson of Jackson, MS; Curley Griggs (Richard) of Terry, MS; Carrie Greenhow (David) and Bobbie Smith of Brookhaven, MS; two brothers, Charles Walker of Jackson, MS and Larry Walker (Wilma) of Byram, MS; one aunt, Sharon K. Walker Spencer (Leo) of Jackson, MS; 17 grandchildren, a host of special cousins, nieces, nephews and relatives; special brothers, Charles Brown, Ruben Young (Beverly), Robert Thompson, Robert Kitchens, Sidney Kitchens, Donald White, Clifton Daniels (Nettie), Melvin Givens, Fenikin Harris (Mary), Larry Dupree, Darryl Taylor and Willie Style; one step daughter, Tonisha Rogers (Derrick) of Terry, MS; one stepson, Daron Rouster of Mississippi and a very special pet, Trinity Green and great grand pet, Minnie Walker. Johnnie was preceded in death by his (father) Major Walker, Jr., (mother) Curlie B. Jones, (uncles) Walter Shannon, Felix Shannon and Willie Shannon, (aunts) Walter Shannon, Felix Shannon and Willie Shannon, and (cousin/brother) Willie Frank Shannon (Big Chess).
I am deeply and sincerely sorry for the passing of Mr. Johnnie Walker. May his spirit bring solidarity upon the entire family, near and far throughout this very trying time. Words can’t fully express how sorry I am for the sudden loss of your father. God will accept his soul and keep him safe till we all meet again in heaven.
My prayers are with my family doing this time of sorrow. We will miss you Johnnie. I am thankful for you being a part of my family.
