It's 3:09am and you're on my mind J. Due to my aunt's funeral being right before yours at the same exact church, I'm happy that I had a chance to see you again and tell you I love you but I forgot to sign your guest book so I'm here. Never will forget that smile! It's crazy how I found out about your passing while I was on the road heading to Jackson for my aunt's funeral. I didn't get into town in time for your wake so I was planning to come pay respect some kinda way because my aunt was at 11am and yours at 2pm. God works in mysterious ways tho. I was wondering how I was gonna swing it all and I found out the morning of that your funeral was at the exact same church we were headed to right after my aunt's. Crazy right? It just dawned on me that I forgot to sign your book so I had to come show love once again. So many memories we had. Remember us roasting Mr. Steed in the band room? LOL. I don't think I've ever seen you frown. You were ALWAYS smiling. I was talking to Terrence M. a few weeks ago about a possible Chastain-Murrah reunion while looking through old yearbook pics. I was just saying "that's my boy" when I saw you and now you're gone. You've always had a spirit full of gold so I know you're with the Lord. From Chastain to Murrah to beyond, I love you forever Sterling. Get your rest. 🕊️

I know words mean nothing because they can't bring you back but I want you to know that you had a beautiful heart and I cherish our friendship more than you will ever be able to know. I know you'll always be with me in spirit but I'd give anything just to be able to pick up my phone and reach out to you for your sound advice or just to hear you laugh one more time I'll always miss you my friend.. until we meet again.

You were an amazing person full of laughs smiles and joy and happiness you would always have a smile on your face n never seem bothered . Always had positive vibes and advice to give me n say that would never stir me wrong in any direction. Johnathan always had a smile on face. Enjoyed talking to him when he would come to visit his mother-in-law. He will be missed.
