Mrs. Juanita Barnes Sheriff not only lived but she had left a legacy of being about family, love and community. She rarely missed a community meeting in West Jackson and she was not afraid to speak up. She was a light for Jitney Jungle when we had one in West Jackson. Remembering the smiling face of Mrs. Sheriff will be a continuing light of HOPE beckoning us to keep going, keep smiling,and keep working to make our communities better and go Vote, every time, Go Vote! My deepest condolences to the family , I remember Mrs Juanita from my neighborhood we stayed on the same street and my mom kept her three oldest when they were little, at 1027 craft street for years , her and my mom had a loving relationship, when our paths cross when I got older she shared the story about my mom and her relationship.
