Dearest MommaTeenie, Some of my fondest memories include: us arm wrestling as a child, sneaking in the back of your car just to come home with you, grocery shopping at Jitney Jungle and Sack n Save, those early morning instant grits, eggs, and sausage breakfasts, Sunday soul filled meals, and our precious time spent together...only when I knew it would be just us. Our time together was mostly spent in silence and in peace with an unspoken understanding of our unconditional love for each other. Your phone calls always made my days! When I would call, our 53 second talks would always begin with a cheerful greeting: "Heeeyyy MommaTeenie!"You'd reply: "Heeyy ole DeeDee!" I'd always remind you that I was just calling to check on you and you were always "glad I did!" Your last words to me were: "I love you too!" Even hours before your transition, I could see you trying so hard to mouth back those exact words. Please know that I (heard) you! I'm forever grateful for our relationship and our time together on Earth. You'll never be gone to me as our memories will forever be in my heart.
With gratitude and love,
Deonica Yvonne Culberson (DeeDee Bug) (Ole DeeDee)

Prayers to heaven for my cousins in the lost of your mother and our aunt 🙏. Love,Leon , Evelyn and Susie, Moore Family Ohio.
My heartfelt condolences to the family. After receiving the news of Maxine's mother I've been completely left with many heartfelt thoughts. I grew up on Corinth Street - between Aberdeen and Macon - as an only child, when I wasn't at the Orey's on Aberdeen, I was at the Culbertson's on Macon. Both their mothers were so influential in my upbringing. Maxine and I played together, ate, attended church, laughed and loved throughout our early childhood through high school! My relationship extends not just with Maxine but her siblings as well. Today, I'm remembering Mrs. Culbertson and all the wisdom and love she brought into my life. Today I'm remembering a mother and of "love."
I'm sending, not only Maxine but her siblings all my love and strength during this heart wrenching time. My heart truly aches for the family as I've recaptured the years. In the last few months Maxine and I have spoken many times about those days, her family and especially the influence of her mother. We spoke many times about her love and care for her mother. What a caring, loving and supportive daughter my friend has been!
A mother's legacy lives on through her children. A mother's love is eternal. My prayer for the family is that you each hold on to that infinite love and let it remain your guiding light. May cherished memories bring you each comfort.
Blessings always, Brenda
