Daddy, I'm trying to accept this as reality. My head is flooded with memories of our family trips, fishing at the pond, car rides to/from school, hiking in the woods to the railroad, talking about music and security measures, etc. I even smile when thinking about you bragging about all six of us to strangers in the mall (even though I couldn't stand it back then). I smile about your phase of listening to only Filipino music, even though you didn't understand the words. I smile thinking of you playing the bass guitar to Who's Loving You, My Hero, and Misty Blue. I laugh thinking about how you drove me to prom with Joi and Mama in the backseat. I think back to how any time you lost me in Barnes & Noble, you'd have them announce, "Gina Tablizo, your dad is waiting for you at customer service." I miss your little tempers, how you'd go on a rant about something, and telling me that you had a bone to pick with me. I miss you so much, but I will never forget what you taught me. I will carry you with me forever and I hope I can continue to make you proud. I know you'll watch over me and our family. I love you, daddy. Love your daughter, Gina.
Daddy, I can still feel the excitement of being a little girl and going outside to find you working in the yard. Dyquavis and I would ride our bikes around the house, and I can still hear your voice saying, "Let's race!" Without hesitation, you would jump on my little pink bike and take off, always letting us kids win anyway. As a child, I couldn't help but think, "Wow, my dad is so cool," and honestly, I still do. There are countless memories like that—so many that I could fill an entire book with the stories, laughter, and special moments we shared. Thank you for making my childhood so memorable and for giving me a lifetime of moments that I will cherish forever. Thank you for being an amazing father, role model, and source of unconditional love. The lessons you taught me, the encouragement you gave me, and the love you showed me will stay with me always. In return, I will pass those same gifts on to my children. I love you, Papa Bear, today, tomorrow, and forever. Until we meet again. Love always, Your daughter, Joi
