Obituary For Paul Jones

Mr. Paul Jones was born on January 4, 1963 in Jackson, Mississippi to the late Jimmie Lee and Pauline D. Jones. Paul accepted Christ, as his Lord at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Clinton, MS until he moved to Cartersville, GA. There he joined Greater Mount Olive Missionary Baptist Church serving as a Deacon. He returned to Jackson, where he then found fellowship at New Galilean Baptist Church before transferring his membership. Until his passing he was a member of Unity Fellowship Baptist Church under Pastor Orlando D. Franklin. Paul served faithfully as a Deacon and sang in the choir. Paul attended Jackson Public Schools graduating from Wingfield High School class of 1982. Paul also pursued trade school attending the Career Development Center for electrical training. One of his greatest passions was for painting and was extremely talented at it, starting Jones Painting. Though Paul suffered from the lost of his kidney very early on he never let that detour him from striving to new heights and eventually receiving one. In his most recent years, Paul pursued a career in security and corrections where he devoted many hours to his duties at MS Department of Corrections. He also loved cheering on the San Francisco 49ers, playing checkers, dancing, roller-skating, and having long spirited and laughter filled conversations. Paul slipped away from this earthly place leaving to cherish his twin, Paula Lynn and siblings Mamie (Marvin) Henderson, Jimmie Lee Jones Jr., Patricia Anderson, Ward Jones, Collett Howard, and Carl (Angela) Jones; Step-children Antonio Wright, Shane Wright, and Ashley (Edjuan) Edwards of Cartersville, GA; Two step-grandchildren; Erin Cornelius and Kaleb Edwards; many nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, church members, and friends. Preceding his death is his mother, father, and siblings; Katherine J. Williams and Anthony C. Jones. Funeral services will be Saturday, February 27, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Stronger Hope M.B. Church, Beasley Road, Jackson, MS 39213 with burial in Autumn Woods Cemetery, 4000 W. Northside Drive, Jackson, MS 39209.
