Funeral services will be Saturday, April 17, 2021 at 11:00 a.m., Westhaven Funeral Home Chapel, 3580 Robinson Street, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.
Mr. Quintus L. Reed (affectionately known as Q) left us to dwell in the House of the Lord on April 9, 2021. He was born to the late Mr. James M. Reed, Jr. and Mrs. Pauline Tolliver-Reed and stepmother, the late Mrs. Eddye O. Reed.
Quintus lived in the Georgetown community where he worked at various jobs with community Entrepreneurs. Mr. Campbell’s Construction's company as a minor construction helper and Mayweather’s Milk delivery.
He attended the Jackson Public schools, Lanier Junior Senior High School in 1964. He attended Jackson State University where he earned a B.S. Degree in Social Science in 1968. After graduation, he moved to Oxford, MS where he was a teacher and taught French and English in the public schools. Also, he attended the University of MS earning a Masters in Social Studies.
After working as an educator, Quintus joined the Air Force and later received an Honorable Discharge.
At an early age Quintus was united in the Christian brotherhood at Faith Presbyterian Church, Jackson, MS. He enjoyed attending church and Bible study. He studied the bible with a passion. Quintus was a sports enthusiast and was able to tell you any team's stats. He was a big fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
He leaves to cherish wonderful and loving memories: James M., III (Ida), Roy (Gloria), Ceagus (Sharron), Susan (Eugene), Michael, Sr., Maxine Harris. He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

To the Reed Family, Quintus was a devoted member of the Bible Study and Sunday School at St. Luke's Presbyterian Church. He will be remembered for his sharing of the scripture. May the peace and comfort of Jesus Christ be with you. Carolyn Boyd and family.
