Ronnie Lee Jemison-Hill, Sr. loved by many was born April 29, 1948 in Jones County to the late Mrs. Rosanna McLemore and Walter Hill. He departed this life on Monday, August 31, 2020. Ronnie started his early education at Jones County Elementary School in Ellisville, MS. At the beginning of his high school career, he transferred to Earl Travillion. After graduating from Earl Travillion High School on May of 1966 he attended Alcorn State University where he received an athletic scholarship. While attending Alcorn, he played football and later transferred to Jackson State University. He accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He attended Shady Grove Baptist Church in Hattiesburg, MS. While in Jackson, MS he attended Mt. Helm Baptist Church for several years until becoming a Pastor/Prophet. Pastor/Prophet Ronnie Hill started Word from Above which he mailed, or hand delivered out the message to many individuals and ministered to many near and far. Ronnie Hill enlisted in the US Military after college and served from September 1971-July 1977. After service, Ronnie returned to Jackson, MS where he opened and owned an insurance agency called Property Underwriters for several years. Ronnie married Virginia Sue Russell after college in 1969 whom he met in high school; to this union three children were born, Ronnie, Tempa Temera, and Jon. Later in years, he attended Belhaven University and graduated with his Bachelor of Arts degree, August 31, 2010. In his leisure time he loved and played the game of tennis as he taught and trained his children. He is survived by his four children: Michelle Jackson (Kevin) Gulfport, MS, Ronnie Lee Hill, II (Catrina) Jackson, MS, Tempa Temera Hill-Clark (Richard) Jackson, MS, Jon Hill (Crystal) Jackson, MS. He also leaves behind his eleven grandchildren: Jaylon, Kiyah, Trinity, Kiara, Jayden, Kaci, Aaliyah, Richard Kaiden, Ronnie Jaxon, Hailey and future grandson, Jon Patrick Hill II; sisters: Delores Rushing, Diana Walker, Judy Jones, Patricia Hayes, Patricia Rice, Melvina Pollard; brother: Walter Lee Hill. He proceeds in death his mother, Rosanna McLemore; father: Walter Hill, stepfather: Melvin McLemore Sr., brothers: Melvin McLemore Jr. and Robert Leander McLemore. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 3:00 p.m., Westhaven Funeral Home, 3580 Robinson Street, Jackson, MS 39209 with burial in Garden Memorial Park, 8001 Highway 49, Jackson, MS 39209.
