I extend my condolences to Mr. Norwood's family. He was a kind, patient teacher who generously shared his passion for crafting and creating remarkable things with wood. I remember him often walking around the shop with a toothpick in hand, watching over and guiding me along with my fellow students, even when we were a handful at times. May he rest in peace, and may his memory be a blessing.
I am a former shop student at Bailey Magnet School. Mr Norwood where's my shop teacher. I have very fond memories of him. I remember two projects specifically in his class that I'm still proud of today. One project we had to build a tower to hold a certain amount of weight. I really enjoyed that. Leslie the big project was making myself a writing desk. And I did it. I have that desk for years. I was very proud that I made something with my hands under his instructions. My heart goes out to his family.
Psalm 91: 14-16 14 "Because he loves me" said the LORD, I will rescue him; I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name. 15 He will call me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will be deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him and show my salvation.
Sherman Lloyd Norwood was blessed to received one of the promises of God to have lived three scores and ten plus a bonus of eight year, three months and 12 days.
