In Loving Memory of Von LaRue Culberson🕊️

My deepest condolences to the family, friends, and loved ones of my dear friend, Von. 🙏🏾💔

Von's infectious smile lit up the room, and soon everyone around him was grinning too. His jovial personality brought joy, laughter, and his own special energy to everyone around him. His presence will truly be missed.

May God give his family strength and comfort during this difficult time.

May Von's memory; his gracious personality...kindness, compassion, mercy, and his generous spirit toward others, and all the lives he touched live on forever. 🕊️🙏🏾

Rest peacefully, Von. You will never be forgotten. ❤️

I don't know what it's like to have to commit a baby brother in the final minutes of "funeralization", but I know the sting of death of an older brother.... a deceased brother whom a person loves is a deceased brother, by any definitions available: Culberson family, this is a time that, to be frank, sucks: It sucks tears from one's eyes that were lying dormant, possibly; it sucks a bit of life's peace from the family members' and friends' minds who are yet in this struggle of the living; it sucks financially; it sucks one's spiritual/emotional equilibrium in that one knows God is real, but, possibly, ask this: How could He allow Von to die - to never smile or speak or exist anymore? Yes, death sucks.... I had not seen Von for decades of years, but there is a family-like string in my heart for all of our "Canyon" community/ethnic group members who lived in harmony in that Lynch Street vicinity that transcends time or circumstances... The guys of the Canyon were our protectors... they were our entertainers, I.e., remember James' basketball goal in his backyard? (I was up close and personal to all of that actions... what a show... (May James rest in peace, too!) - the guys played football in the street, too... Who can do that these days? Oh, trick-or-treating time was great and safe and fun... Then, when somebody needed something, the Canyon folks came alive and helped each other out... So, yes, the news of the death of another guy from that gang was disconcerting- it was sad!! Of course, I pray that Von was ready... We were taught by Rev. Fred Black and then by our daddy, Rev. Dr. Jessie Redmond that life is as a "vapor"... it is here; we live to accomplish our God-inspired assignments , then, poof, it's over! We are forced to give up that life to rest until He (Jesus) returns.... Those who know the Von who died can believe, as we who were not in his present life, that he made it/ or that he will enter into God's kingdom on that Great Getting Up morning.. That is our hope - to Von's immediate family, we are praying that this season is one that is journeyed through with solace, strength and comfort - God bless y'all!!! God bless his friends who remained close to his heart after decades, who knew the Von of today.... I know my mother, Mrs. Mariah Redmond, and my siblings who remain, Celia Ann, Jessie Mae, Jerry and Robert (who has already left his condolences) would want me to tell you this: 'God be with you all, til we meet again...' ❤️🙏🏾🤗

Let not your heart be troubled: believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father's house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you; for I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, [there] ye may be also. Von, we will miss you on this earthly plain, BUT ONE DAY! We shall meet again! On behalf of the Redmond family from "The Canyon" We love you and your family! As Dr. Jessie Redmond would say, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." REST IN PEACE BIG BROTHER❤️
