In Loving Memory of
Joseline P. Ferdinand, RN, ANCC, CNN, M.S.
With humble submission to the will of God, we celebrate the life and legacy of Joseline P. Ferdinand, a devoted woman of faith, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, nurse leader, and humanitarian. She entered eternal rest surrounded by love, leaving behind a life marked by excellence, compassion, and service.
Born in Dessalines, Haiti, to Phileus Philippe Jeannoute and Heureuse Pierre, Joseline was raised in the village of Petit Berard in the Department of Artibonite before later moving to Port-au-Prince. Her Haitian heritage shaped her strength, dignity, perseverance, and unwavering faith.
Answering her calling to care for others, she became a Registered Nurse and later earned her Master of Science degree from The New School for Social Research, Graduate School of Management and Urban Policy, in 1990. She obtained certification as a Certified Nephrology Nurse and held ANCC credentials, reflecting her dedication to professional excellence.
For 36 years, she faithfully served at St. Luke’s–Roosevelt Hospital Center in New York, where she rose to the position of Head Nurse in the Dialysis Unit. In 2007, she was honored with the Excellence in Nursing Award for her outstanding leadership and compassionate patient care. Nursing was not simply her career. It was her calling and ministry.
Joseline shared over 47 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Dr. Michel-Ange Ferdinand. Together, they devoted their lives to faith and service, participating in medical missions and helping to advance Operation Grace for Haiti, a nonprofit organization committed to uplifting communities in need.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Dr. Michel-Ange Ferdinand; her devoted daughter, Dr. Pascale Ferdinand; her cherished grandchildren; her beloved brothers and sisters; extended family; in-laws; and a host of relatives and friends whose lives were touched by her grace.
Joseline loved the Lord deeply. Prayer was her refuge and Scripture her strength. Her life reflected the words of 2 Timothy 4:7:
“I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.”
Her legacy of faith, service, and love will continue for generations to come.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
