Mrs. Dora Virginia Clark Augustus

Augusta, GA—Mrs. Dora Virginia Clark Augustus entered into rest Saturday, June 20, 2020.

Mrs. Augustus was educated in the Richmond County School system and attended Paine College. She joined Bethel A.M.E. Church at the early age of twelve. She performed in local gospel trio The Bethelites, Chancel Choir and she was a member of Stewardes Board #3. She was a USO hostess during WWII and was employed at Pilgrim Insurance Company where she earned the title of Mrs. Pilgrim 1978. She enjoyed sewing working with flowers. She was united in Holy Matrimony on July 28, 1949 to the late George Augustus, Jr., and to this union one daughter was born, Monikia Augustus.

Survivors include her loving and devoted daughter, Monikia Spearman; and a life long friend, Josephine Taylor, and host of other relatives and friends.

Graveside services will be held Friday, June 26, 2020 at 11:30 a.m. from Mount Olive Memorial Gardens where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband, 3666 Deansbridge Road, Reverend Augusta Hall, officiating. All CDC and social distancing guidelines will be observed.

Public visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2020 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
