Mr. Hezikiah Johnson age 91, the son of late George and Louvenia Johnson was born on May 23, 1933, in Saint George, SC, departed this earthly realm on Wednesday, November 23, 2024, in Lawton, Ok.
At an early age he gave his life to Christ. Hezikiah attended Whitmore High in Conway SC, where he met Hattie Mae who would become his wife. They moved to Augusta, GA in 1955. Daddy retired from Kings Mill after several years of employment. Daddy was known for his outgoing spirit. He loved people, and he loved laughing, joking, and telling stories of old times. Daddy loved the outdoors and especially gardening. He loved fixing things such as lawn mowers and cars. Daddy could fix anything. In his younger days he was a great dancer. But most of all, Daddy loved taking care of his family.
Hezikiah was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Hattie Mae Johnson, three brothers, James Lewis Johnson, Ulyesses Johnson, and George Hobby Johnson; two sisters, Mary Ann Kindell and Ruth Ann Wesley.
Our beloved Hezikiah Johnson Leaves to cherish his memory four children, Pamela (Andrew)Warren of Lawton, OK, Sharon (Henry)Royal of Augusta, GA, Barry (Sentheial)Johnson of Hephzibah, GA, and Stephanie (Dexter)Dorsey of Grovetown, GA; ten grandchildren, Tavarius Warren, Coby (Emily)Warren, Jada Royal, Catrina Royal, DeMontrez (Shannon)Johnson, Barry Johnson, II, Dontrel Price, Darrian Warren, Taylor (Nicholas)Williams and Shelby Love, seven bonus grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; one brother, Paul Morgan of Capital Heights, MD; two sister-in-laws, Cindy Johnson of Aiken, SC, and Lilia Barnhill of Brooklyn NY; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Public viewing will be held Friday, December 13, 2024 from 3:00PM to 5:00PM at the mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 11:00AM at Mt. Zion A.M.E. Church 1237 Summer Street, Augusta, GA. Interment will be in Mount Olive memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA.
