Obituary For Mr. Ernest T. Brown

Mr. Ernest T. Brown entered into rest Wednesday, September 8, 2021 at University Hospital.

Catholic Funeral Mass will be held Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at 12:15 p.m. St. Joseph Catholic Church, 2607 Lampkin Road, Augusta, Georgia 30906. Viewing will be at the church from 11:45 a.m.-12:15 p.m.

Burial will be Thursday, September 16, 2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Fort Jackson National Cemetery, 4170 Percival Road, Columbia, SC 29229.

Ernest T. Brown was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 8, 1947 to the late Otis and Novella Brown.

Ernest attended public schools in Baltimore, Maryland and graduated from Holy Family High School in Birmingham, Alabama upon graduating he enlisted in the United States Marine Corp where he served in the Vietnam War. After leaving the Marine Corp he attended Calhoun MEBA Engineering School where he received his engineering degree.

He traveled around the world while working as a marine engineer and while traveling he pursued his education and received several master degrees.

Ernest was a great conversationalist he never met a stranger and loved his jazz music.

He was preceded in death by his sisters, Vicki Blackwell and Cassandra Lewis.

Ernest leaves to cherish his memories: sisters, Burdine Brown and Anita Brown; aunt, Geraldine Bonner (Robert); nephews, D’Wayne Moore, James Pulley Jr and Aaron Brown (Jakarta); nieces, Renell Blackwell, Shawn Aje and Chavon Pulley; special friends/caregivers, Edward Austin and Richard Valiquette and a host of other relatives and friends.

My Condolences to the family. By way of my mother Lois Martin Earnest was my God Brother and we spent a many days playing Pinochle. He thought he was going to Womp up on us. Hopefully near the end of the year we can have a small memorial in Baltimore. Even if it is just two hours of socialization at my home in Howard Park. Ernie was always a welcome sight at Belair Donuts. He would come in multiple times a week with a smile on his face and always bought donuts for the other patients when he went to his weekly appointments at the VA. Very kind man. He will be missed.
