I was deeply saddened to hear about Wayne's passing.Β I considered him a near-lifelong friend.Β He was charismatic, empathetic and insightful.Β Though we saw each other very infrequently during our senior years, I have many fond memories of good times we shared as young men during the 70s and 80s.Β Such times include: the times we would engage for hours as opponents on the chessboard; the times we would go for a healthy jog along the Levee; the times we hung-out listening to jazz, and the times we spent just simply cruising the town. Wayne will be missed by all who knew him.Β I pray that God will strengthen his family in the days, months and years to come as they mourn his loss.
