Obituary For Mrs. Ida Mae Green

AUGUSTA, Georgia— Sis. Ida Mae Wright Green was born to the late Sis. Ola Mae and Bro. James Wright, Sr. on December 1, 1942 in Chatham County, Georgia.

At an early age, she accepted Christ and joined Fellowship Baptist Church in Munnerlyn, Georgia. When her family relocated to Augusta, Georgia, she attended Levi White Elementary, A.R. Johnson, and graduated from Lucy C. Laney High School, Class of 1961 where she was a proud class alumni.

As a young lady, Ida moved to Boston, Massachusetts and was united in marriage to James C. Green, Jr. She lived in Boston most of her life and took on the role of an office manager, was a homemaker that loved decorating and traveling. After moving back to Augusta with her family, she was very enthusiastic in hosting family gatherings for fun and fellowship. Ida also enjoyed attending church with her sisters and she joined the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church. She served in the kitchen ministry and was a faithful member until her health failed.

Ida was preceded in death by her husband, James C. Green Jr., infant daughter, Deidra Green, son, Robert T. (Natti) Green, sisters, Betty Sue Gaines and Dorothy Green, and brother James Wright, Jr.

Ida transitioned from life into the presence of God on April 20, 2021. She left to cherish her loving memory, sons, Dexter C. (Corinne) Green, Keith (Robin) Green, James C. Green, daughter, Cynthia King; sisters, Eunice Wright Williamson, Linda (Robert) Graham, Sarah (Early) Hickson; sisters-in-law, Mae Dorothy Green and Clarecia Wright of Augusta, GA, Lacey Baker of Waynesboro, GA, and Betty Murray of Boston, MA; brothers-in-law, James Gaines and Porter Garner of Augusta, GA, Charles Green of Waynesboro, GA, and Robert Green of Amherst MA; grandchildren, Rebecca Carter, Shakelia Dingle, India Green, Damani Green, Dexter C. Green, Jr., and Natalie Curry; spiritual daughters, Trycena (Tish) Freeman and Elizabeth Carvalho, 8 great-grandchildren, a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 27, 2021 at 11:00 am at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, GA.

Public viewing Monday, April 26, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 pm at the mortuary.
