Augusta, Georgia-Ms. Barbara A. “Bob” Leverett, 85, entered into rest Sunday, August 1, 2021 at Augusta University Medical Center.
Ms. Leverett was born to Thomas and Mary Liza Leverett in Lincoln County, Georgia.
Bob joined Pleasant Grove C.M.E. Church at an early age and was a life long member. She attended faithfully until her health declined.
She completed high school and received a diploma from Lincoln County Training School and continued her education at Allen University where she received a Bachelor of Arts degree. In her early years, she taught in various schools in Georgia to include Lincoln County. She retired from Mayfirm Industries.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, August 7, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at Pleasant Grove C. M. E. Church, 2245 Augusta Hwy., Lincolnton, Georgia 30817.
Public viewing will be Friday, August 6, 2021 from 2:00-4:00 p.m. at the mortuary. There will be no viewing at the graveside.
Survivors are two daughters, Cheryl Leverett-Hill, Augusta, Georgia and Paula L. Gilchrist, Atlanta, Georgia; two brothers, Thomas Leverett (Carrie), Augusta, Georgia and Samuel Leverett, Bronx, New York; four grandchildren who brought joy into her life: Dorothy P. Gilchrist, Atlanta, Georgia, Emily D. Hill, Augusta, Georgia, Jacquelyn R. Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia, Reginald B. Johnson, Atlanta, Georgia; along with a host of nieces and nephews, family and friends.
