Ms. Betty Jean Thomas Johnson, was born in Augusta, GA, on June 24,1954 to Ollie and Margie Thomas. She graduated from T.W. Josey High School class of 1972. She began working at Eisenhower Army Medical Center, in the Nutritional Care Division in 1974, from which she Retired after 35 years of service in 2009.
Betty departed this early life on Saturday, January 15, 2022 at Doctor's Hospital, after a long battle with Dementia.
To cherish her everlasting memory, Betty leaves her two daughters, Terri Johnson (Yvonne), of Pembroke Pines, FL and Toshiba Johnson, of Augusta, GA; two granddaughters, Tawanna Johnson and Keri Johnson, of Pembroke Pines, FL; two grandsons, Michael Pettis, Jr., of Augusta, GA, and Jason Johnson, of Pembroke Pines, FL; four sisters, Patrica Dyson, of Augusta, GA, Ollie Mae Ennis, of Hampton, GA, Barbara Taylor and Ella Wright of Augusta, GA; two brothers, Leroy Thomas, Sr., and Walter Thomas, of Augusta, GA; and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
Public visitation will be held Thursday, January 20, 2022 from 5:00 to 7:00PM at the mortuary. Graveside services will be conducted Friday, January 21, 2022 at 11:00AM at Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA, with Reverend Dr. K.B. Martin, officiating.
