I just found out about ms Smiley passing. When we met, she was very wonderful with the most welcoming smile. My condolences to Patricia, Dock, Erica and the rest of the family. Stay strong, Sabree
Ms.Carolyn was the grandmother of my cousin Erica but anytime I got to see her she would welcome me saying "hey baby" and give me a warm hug, a plate if she had cooked or some delicious cake! We would sit at the table and talk about everything and I always felt her sincerity in welcoming me. Her heart was so pure and an example of what this world needs now more than ever....unconditional love. My prayers are going up and love being sent to the family and friends of Ms. Carolyn. This beautiful vessel is now resting in peace at Gods right hand and that is amazing. Let's all dare to push past our indifferences, judgement and malice and love as hard and consistent as Ms. Carolyn did.
Love is a choice, Sheena Walker

I have so many fond memories of my Granny. Being curled up next to her on the bus during our summer trips to Daytona, Beach. Christmas Eve where family would gather every year at her house to pass out gifts. Being shushed and handed peppermint at church. And most of all, good conversations or just being in her presence. I will love you always - Tammy
