Hephzibah, Georgia-Charlene Hornsby was born to the late Sarah Jane Mayes Williams and Robert Lee Hornsby Sr. on March 13, 1965. She entered into rest Sunday September 4, 2022, at her residence in Hephzibah, GA.
Public viewing will be Thursday, September 15, 2022 from 4:00-6:00 p.m. at the mortuary.
Funeral services will be conducted Friday, September 16, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Friendship Baptist Church, 2543 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, Georgia.
Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens.
"Charlie" as she was known, was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, niece, and friend. She worked at the Medical College of Georgia for over 10 years as an Environmental Services Technician. She was a remarkable cook, and had a passion for decorating, shopping, and spectating drag races. Her favorite food was but not limited to seafood. Her favorite color was Royal Blue. She loved her dogs Tramp and Chevy unconditionally.
She was preceded in death by her Father Robert Lee Hornsby Sr.; Mother, Sarah Jane Mayes Williams, and her daughter; Eumeeka Deshawn Bussey.
She leaves to cherish fond memories: a loving Partner of 26 Years, Mr. Jack Bell; Sisters, Diane (LeRoy) Jenkins, Vanessa (Maron) Sanders; Brothers, Ronny (Carol) Hornsby, Walter B. Charlene knew me since I was a child her nickname for me was tay da salad.. Che has always been alright with me..now Charlene did a lot of things for but she was not about to give that money up lol ain't no borrowing nothing that's why I liked her she was no pushover by any means. She was and has always been a strong woman not to mention her beauty I always loved her smile, it is one I will never forget.. Rest easy my buddy I love u!!

She was so cool and understanding always played like she was mean but was so sweet and loving trust me I know you will be missed
I have known Charlene for 10 years she was a special person we use to go out to eat all the time not a day went by she did nit call me and check on me I still pick up my phone to call her Charlene u r going to be missed so much she loved her children so much and from what I know angel her granddaughter was so special to her she was so proud of her I love you Charlene your freind ms.dee
