Mrs. Queenie Jordan Lawton entered into rest Wednesday, November 26, 2025. Public visitation will be held Thursday, December 4, 2025 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM at the mortuary. Funeral services will be conducted Friday, December 5, 2025 at 12:00Noon at Tabernacle Baptist Church, 1223 Laney Walker Boulevard, Augusta, Georgia 30901. The remains will lie in state one hour prior to the service. Interment will be in Mount Olive Memorial Gardens, 3666 Deans Bridge Road, Hephzibah, Georgia, 30815. Floral arrangements are welcomed.

Mrs. Queenie Jordan Lawton was our Librarian at the Alternative School for several years. She was and will always be remembered by the administration, staff and students as " Mrs. Lawton". She was our Rock. She was dedicated, knowledgeable, kind, gentle and unwavering in her faith, family, and personal commitment to what she perceived as the right thing to do. Throughout life we are blessed with opportunities to Meet interesting people, People we admire and every so often we have the rare chance to meet someone special. Someone to connect with, laugh with, share our experiences with and learn from. Ms. Queenie was like An "Abuelita" a SPECIAL grandmother to me. My heart will always have a special place for THE QUEEN. My heartfelt condolences to you and your family along with fervent prayers of peace and comfort to you all.
