Obituary For St. Gladys Jones Pelzer

St. Gladys Jones Pelzer, 104, entered into rest Thursday, May 5, 2022. She was born June 28,1917 to Laney and Carrie White.

She was married to the late Hercules Pelzer on September 9, 1956. She had four children, Thomas Jones Jr.(deceased), James (Geraldine) Jones, Betty Jones Gonder and Lanier Jones (deceased); one adopted daughter, Pearline Franklin; daughters-in-law, Elizabeth Trent and Mattie Jones; 9 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 17 great great grandchildren.

St. Pelzer attended the Lamar School of Nursing Program where she received a License for Nursing. She worked at the Medical College of Georgia and University Hospital where she retired, but continued to serve the community by doing private duty nursing.

St. Pelzer started her journey with her membership at an early age with the United House of Prayer for all People in Dearing, Georgia, then moving to the Mother House in Augusta in 1956. She was the president of the Senior Chorus.

St. Pelzer received many awards and recognition for her services in the community and the church.

Viewing will be Thursday, May 19, 2022 from 5:00-7:00 pm at the mortuary.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday, May 20, 2022 at 12:00 noon at United House of Prayer for All People, 1269 Wrightsboro Road, Augusta, Georgia. Interment will be in United House of Prayer for All People Cemetery, Dearing, Georgia.
