Alan Alton Self, 28 of Henrietta, TX passed away, Saturday, August 6th, 2022 in Galveston, TX.

A graveside service will take place at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 13th, at Robert’s Branch Cemetery in Jack County, Texas, with Pastor Steven Bernard officiating.

Alan was born December 24th, 1993 in Midland, TX to David and Donna Kay (Wells) Self. Alan loved giving his time to being a volunteer firefighter. He was a man who loved helping anyone who was down on their luck. You would find him changing tires on the side of the road, dropping his plans to go help a friend in need, or you might find him on icy roads pulling people out of the barditch. Alan loved taking an old truck and fixing it up with all his emergency lights. He never met a stranger, and had a gift of being able to just walk up to a group of people and have a conversation. Alan's infectious smile will be missed.

He is preceded in death by his Mother, Donna Kay Self; Grandfather, Alton Self; Aunts, Beverly Simmons and Carolyn Beckman; and Great-Grandparents, E.E. and Sylvia Finney.

Alan is survived by his parents, David and Rhonda Self of Henrietta; Grandparents, Nancy Self of Antelope, TX and Sharon Breeden of Tulsa, OK; Brothers, Jeremy Self of Antelope, Justin Hicks of Iowa Park, TX, and Joshua Hicks and wife Callie of Olney, TX; Sisters: Brianna Gillaspie and husband Stephen of Saint Marys, GA, and Destiny Ford and husband Jordan of St. Louis, MO; Aunts, Lavella and husband Zed of Owasso, OK, Rhonda Borque of Addison, TX, and Shawna Williams and husband Jerry of South Lake, TX; Uncle, Matthew Whatley and wife Melody of Jacksboro, TX; numerous nieces and nephews; and his Great-Uncle, that he thought the world of, George Plumlee wife Emilee of Loving, TX.
