Betty Lowrance, 86, of Sunset, TX, passed peacefully on March 19th, 2026, in Decatur, TX.
Funeral Services will take place at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, March 24th, at the Old Country Church in Bowie, TX, with Pastor Sam Cambell and Dr. Todd Renner officiating.
Burial will follow at Pleasant Hill Cemetery in Sunset, TX.
Family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, March 23rd, at the White Family Funeral Home in Bowie.
Betty was born on January 5, 1940, to Robert and Juanita Ensey, in El Paso, TX. She attended Forestburg High School. Betty married Louie Lowrance on December 23, 1956, in Sunset, TX. They were married for 69 years. Betty worked at the Hagger Slack Company for 10 years, and later the Howard Wolf Dress Factory for 10 years. She then started a 20-year career with the United States Postal Service, retiring as Postmaster of the Sunset office. Betty was a devout Christian and was a member of the Old Country Church in Bowie. One of Betty’s biggest blessings was her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She always called her granddaughters her “Princess”, and she was their Queen. She loved to go on trips and outings with all the girls. Betty loved all sports, and watched any activities that her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were involved in.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Juanita Ensey, son, Louie Marlon Lowrance, and son-in-law, Kenneth Howerton.
Betty is survived by her devoted husband Louie Lowrance, of Sunset; daughter, LaMona Howerton of Sunset; granddaughters, Paige DoByns of Sunset, Lacey Shook and husband Chad of Yukon, OK, Hailey Hachtel and husband Dustin of Sunset, Loren Rhoades and husband Graig of Sunset, and Lindsey Rhoades and husband Bryan of Bowie, great-grandchildren, Lexi Lowrance of Bowie, Kase Humpert of Sunset, Dodge Rhoades of Bowie, Londyn Humpert of Yukon, OK, Preslea and Kenna Hachtel of Sunset, and Chevy Rhoades of Sunset.
