Obituary For Betty "June" Jones

Betty “June” Jones, 83, of Sunset, TX, passed away

peacefully on March 26th, 2026, at home surrounded by her loved

ones.

Funeral services will take place on Monday, March 30th,

at 12:00 p.m. at the Old Country Church in Bowie, TX, with Pastor Sam Campbell

officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at

the church.

Burial will follow at Sunset Cemetery in Sunset, Texas.

June was born on May 10th, 1942, to Orville and

Margaret McKee. She attended Thomas Jefferson High School. June married the love of

her life Charlie Jones on July 2nd, 1960, at the LeeTot Baptist

Church. The two were married for 65 happy years. June was a Merchandiser Manager

for JC Penney for 12 years, while also being the “Head Dog” over C&L Door Company. June

loved the Lord; she was a devout Christian and was a member of the Old Country

Church in Bowie. She enjoyed cooking, spending time with her family, and traveling. June’s biggest blessings in life were her

children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her parents; loving husband

Charles Jones; grandson, Joshua Woods; and brothers, Richard McKee, Jimmy McKee

and Barr McKee; son-in-law, Jim Rodgers; and brother-in-law, Ocy Hale.

June is survived by her son, Chuck Jones III and wife Charna

of Little Elm, TX; daughters, Peggy Rodgers of Sunset, and Patty Richardson and

husband Bob of Sunset; sister, Dotty Hale of Little Elm; and sister-in-law Brenda

McKee of Collinville, TX.

Arrangements entrusted to the White Family Funeral Home of

Bowie, Texas.
